Handlaid turnout for Märklin

Here I describe how one can use Fasttrack twistties and pucos from Erbert/Herei to make turnouts for the Märklin system
I use Erbert products:
073111 , punktband
073104 (5.0 mm) and 073105 (4.4mm)
If you want the slider to go clear the tongues, you'll need 073103 (5.7mm)..

They also have complete 'turnout kits', 071391 (for Peco SL-91/92)

In this example, I'm using a Twistties #5 wye.
I try to have 'studs' every 2-3 ties. I first position short pieces of the kontaktband and then I mark the spots where I need the puko klemmen


As one can see, I had to drill through some ties for the Herei band to fit. I'm using US-prototype tie spacing. Herei makes their punktband for European code100 rails...

I figure out where all the part will go on the cork. trace the contours of the parts and carve away the cork I don't need

After 3-4 coats/staining of india ink (a few drops + lots of water) the ties get a nicer colour:
