What's this?

This is a site about model railroading. Modular railroading in HO scale.
I build an empire 2-3 feet at the time using Fremo module standard and a swedish standard (MMM).
The setting is the western US during the golden era of rail roading of the 1950's.
The 50's was the transition era when majestic steamers and colorful diesels ruled the rails...
On these pages you can find instructions to how I have built my modules, my first layout, structures, etc.
The theme is the Golden Valley Route...

The Golden Valley Route

The Golden Valley Route is a freelance (fictional), modular, HO model railroad set in
the western USA during the golden era of railroading (the 1950's).

The route connects the Southern Pacific and the Union Pacific somewhere in
the California/Oregon/Nevada region.

The main module is a town called Golden Valley, featuring orange trees,
and a citrus packing plant. Thus Pacific Fruit Express (PFE) reefers is a common sight.
The name of this route is simply based upon a few Walthers (cornerstone kits)
and the citrus business.

Enjoy!
